Minutes for Rollingwood Women’s Club Meeting, October 29, 2014 at 7:00pm. At the home of Leslie Gandy of 2403 Vance Lane.

Marissa called the meeting to order and thanked the hostess.
Reminded members to pay $20.00 annual dues to Treasurer.

There were no old minutes to read.

Treasurer reported $21,000 in bank account.  Marilyn reminded the members to submit appropriate tax forms for purchases.

Next meeting is at the home of Karen Hughes at 2 Brett Cove on Tuesday, Nov 18th. A sign up sheet for food was passed around. On the agenda for the November 18 meeting will be gifts to the City of Rollingwood.

Allison updated members on a Monterrey Oak planted at the Rollingwood Park in memory of Alex Hutson. A plaque will be placed in his honor.

Members discussed a small library in the park with a member to monitor content, including adult and children’s books. Vandalism has been a problem so it should be as close to police station as possible.

New member meet and greet in the park on Friday, Nov 20th 4-6pm at the Park Pavilion. Snacks provided, but BYOB.

Christmas will be Saturday, Dec 13th at Gandy’s house.

The bylaws were changed last summer and Marilyn made motion to pass the bylaws. Kathryn Terpin seconded it. Motion passes unanimously.

A card was passed around to members to sign for Officer Odom who was injured in the September floods

Shanthi, who has been historian since 1994, presented the history of RWC. She asked members for assistance in digitalizing existing and future history

Leah thanked members for stepping up and asked for submissions for November meeting for motions. Bring an idea and a budget.

Krista Dillard of Open Space Commercial explained her role as commercial real estate agent who works for several national companies.

Melissa Morrow has run the Rollingwood 5k previously and asked for a new member to chair. Responsibilities include coordinating children’s events, graphics for T-shirts, food, awards and managing volunteers. Meetings begin in January. The run is scheduled for April. 5 fitness will be the primary corporate sponsor, with more sponsors to be added. Allison Queralt volunteered to coordinate sponsorship.

Allison Queralt spoke about her son’s Sam new non-profit “Duffel Dudes,” which collects backpacks for people who live on the street or take public transport. The backpacks will be distributed from food pantries.
Sara Hutson, City Council member, called for volunteers for park commission, which has two openings and the utility commission, which has four openings.

Becky Kittleman photographer. Specializes in photographing children. Expressed interest in Rollingwood Camera Club. A sign up sheet was passed around.

Terra Weske esthetician at 512 Skincare spoke about her business.

Linda Metrick spoke about the RWC book club. Meetings are 3rd monday of the month. A sign up sheet was passed around.

Wendi Hundley, area head for Nextdoor.com updated members.

Laila Scott announced the launch of her charity, Pop-up Birthday in which she creates a theme party for each child.  She works with Foster Angels of central Texas.


Sandra Farrell discussed her painting and the progression of her art.  She is also a skin care consultant for Arbonne Skin Care and is selling their skin care, supplements and make up.
